When a channel is set to auditorium mode with channel mode +u, the channel behaves in a way that allows regular users to join and watch the channel conversation without seeing or being seen by other channel users. Only the channel operators are visible. Combined with other channel modes like +m, it is possible to create a view-only channel suitable for applications like news tickers, announcements, etc.
If you are an operator within an auditorium mode enabled channel, you can see all joined users.
